Land Steward Boot Camp
Time & Location
About the Event
Join Us For BootCamp! (It will be fun. We promise.)
With the end of winter, our preserves are coming back to life and we’re looking forward to getting out and caring for them.
Please consider becoming a land steward for one of our properties.
Being a steward for a preserve is not a major time commitment – it takes 1-2 hours per year for each property and requires an in-person visit only once per year (it’s fine if you want to check it more often). To steward a property you simply have to visit it and note its condition and check for encroachments or misuse by neighbors. Walk the property line (we use a special phone app to find them), snap a few photos, pick up any litter, complete a form to document your findings, and send it to our stewardship coordinator and you’re done.
To help new stewards understand the process we’re setting up our very first “Stewardship Bootcamp” where we are going to go as a group and steward one of our preserves in North Stamford together. The event will be about an hour.
